Express Entry Program

Express Entry is Canada’s newest immigrant selection system. Express Entry is not an immigration program itself but rather a way for Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) to select highest ranking candidates to become permanent residents of Canada. Express Entry is an online application process which involves both federal and provincial government, as well as Canadian employers. With Express Entry, Canada is committed to making the immigration process simpler and faster.

Candidates who meet the minimum requirements of the following economic programs may make an application to the Express Entry pool:

  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Workers
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • some, Provincial Nominee Programs

Your first step is to determine if you qualify to immigrate in any one of the 3 economic programs. By completing our free preliminary online assessment our team of consultants will review and assess your eligibility to determine if you meet the requirements for an Express Entry application. If you are eligible you will be able to proceed with the next step towards making an application.

Candidates who are eligible in any one of the 3 economic immigration programs may express their interest for immigration to Canada by creating an online profile. The profile will contain information about their skills, work experience, education, and other personal information. Once a profile has been created, the candidate is ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Candidates with job offers approved by the federal government will rank higher than those without a job offer and will be ranked as priority for selection. Candidates without job offers will be required to register with the national job bank. It is important to ensure that all information provided in a profile is accurate, as providing false or misleading information could result in a ban from re-entering the pool for several years.

Candidates will be invited by the federal government, provincial governments and Canadian employers to apply for immigration. The highest ranking candidates (those who are considered to have the best chances for economic success in Canada) in the Express Entry pool will be invited to apply. Those who receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) will be required to submit their supporting documentation within 60 days of receiving the Invitation to Apply. Applicants who submit all required documentation will be processed to be issued permanent residence within 6 months. Candidates who were not invited to apply within the 12 months from the time of their profile creation will be able to re-submit their profile for another chance of selection.

We help our clients improve their Comprehensive Ranking score to maximize their chance of being selected and invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence. Candidates in the Express Entry pool are ranking based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) out of a total of 1200 points, by the following components:

  • core human capital factors;
  • accompanying spouse or common-law partner factors, if applicable;
  • skill transfer-ability factors; and
  • factors relating to a provincial nomination or a qualifying offer of arranged employment.

Our familiarity with the Comprehensive Ranking System allows us to guide our clients in the best and most appropriate manner to receive the highest chances of being invited to apply. Of course, it is in the candidate’s best interest to ensure they strive to improve their ranking in order to maximize the chances of being selected and receive an invitation to apply.
